Evaluasi Efektivitas Kondensor Direct Contact Tipe Jet Spray pada PLTP Unit 4 Area Ulubelu
Main Article Content
Abstract
Indonesia has very large geothermal potential; however, its utilization is still not optimal. One of the important components affecting the performance of a Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) is the condenser, particularly the jet spray direct-contact condenser, which functions to condense turbine exhaust steam while maintaining system vacuum conditions. This study aims to determine the condenser effectiveness and analyze the influence of steam heat capacity on condenser performance at PLTP Unit 4 PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Area Ulubelu. The research method was conducted through the collection of field operational data, calculation of thermodynamic parameters, and analysis of condenser effectiveness based on the heat transfer relationship between steam and cooling water. The analysis results show that condenser effectiveness is influenced by steam heat capacity and cooling system operating conditions, which directly affect the condenser’s ability to reduce turbine exhaust steam temperature and maintain system vacuum. Increasing condenser effectiveness contributes to optimizing plant performance and reducing operational costs. Therefore, evaluating condenser effectiveness is an important step in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of geothermal power plant operations.
