Abstract

The system which implements Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) on AT89C52 for controlling the speed of DC motor is not only able to stabilize the motor speed according to desired setpoint but also stabilize it on variable loads. The speed control is performed by regulating field voltage Vf with regulator buck which using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) switching. There are two inputs for controlling the speed; setpoint and feedback. Each input is digitalized using ADC0809 and is processed through FLC to have output as duty cycle which then becomes input for the regulator buck. Observation is performed to speed  response to different setpoints and to variable loads and also to anchor voltage Va. The result shows that FLC can be used for regulating DC motor speed according to setpoint. The speed reaches steady state within 2.52 s 4.65 s, with error rate 0.83 percents.
